As used EVs drop in price, internet searches spike 32%

Used electric vehicle (EV) prices in the U.S. dropped by 9% in September, marking the largest decline among all vehicle categories, as per Cars.com. This price drop spiked a 32% increase in searches for used EVs. The Tesla Model Y saw a notable 20.2% decline in trade value.

New EV inventory rose by 50%, thanks to General Motors, but some models are lingering on dealer lots. Brands like Jeep and Dodge faced excess inventory, while Toyota and Lexus led in faster-selling models. Slower-selling EVs include Chevrolet’s Bolt and Rivian’s R1T
